STATE OF BLACK AMERICA AND OUR MISSION TO RESURRECT BLACK AMERICA'S CONSCIOUSNESS THROUGH TELLING OUR STORY-GOSPEL ACCORDING TO BLACK HER-STORY (AFRICA)

A 2007 report published by the National Urban League on the STATE OF BLACK AMERICA reported:

"Presently, African Americans make up approximately 12.5% of the population, Latino Americans have moved into 1st place with 15% and Asian Americans roughly 5-6%  It is estimated by the year 2050 the make up of America will be:   Europeans (White) will make up 43%, Latino Americans - 30%, African Americans - 15%, Asian Americans - 9%.

A 2011 report by the WE Generation reported approximately 63% in America are White, 14% Black, 18% Hispanic and 5% Asians.

Also, within the 2007 Report from the National Urban League of 2007 it was reported:

-Black men are twice as likely to be unemployed as white men.

-Black men are six times as likely than white men to be incarcerated and the average jail sentences tend to be ten (10) months longer than those of white men.

-16.5% of the black male population has been to prison compared to 7.7% Hispanic and 2.7% of white men.

-Young Black males between the ages of 15 and 34 years old are more times likely to be killed by firearms and nearly eight times as likely to suffer aids.

-12 percent of single parent Black homes are now led by men.

-More than 2/3 of Black children living in one parent households, the majority are headed by women.

-42% female headed households with children are poor, compared to married black households.

-A quarter of Black Americans live below the federal poverty line.  A poverty rate twice the national rate.

-A third or more African American children live in poverty and two thirds in single parent homes.

-Half of African American men in their 0s are unemployed and high school drop outs.

-The average black family earns less than 65% of the earnings of white households and has a net work only about 10% that of white.

-HIV/AIDS, breast, cervical and prostate cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and other chronic diseases continue to rank much high in the black community, than any of the other cultures, which, also includes the Native American population (which hardly is ever mentioned in national statistical analysis).

We at International Wellness Network, Inc., realizes that in 2012 our world in America has drastically changed in a number of areas above, statistically for the worse.  However, our reason for the importance of telling our STORY - ACCORDING TO BLACK HISTORY.  If we are honest as a people our plight in America has not changed for the better since the Civil Rights era, in retrospect based on statistics it has gotten considerably worse in all of the above areas for African American families.

The importance of telling our story, our AFRICAN STORY IS A STORY OF A PEOPLE THAT THROUGH ALL KINDS OF CARDS STACKED AGAINST THEM - OUR ANCESTORS ROSE UP FOR THE OCCASION.  ALTHOUGH MODERN DAY LYNCHING IN MANY FORMS STILL EXIST, IF WE ARE HONEST AS A NATION, COMES IN THE FORM OF IMPRISONMENT OF OUR MALES AND NOW MANY OF OUR FEMALES, THE DISMANTLING OF OUR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY STRUCTURE, THE DISMANTLING OF OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM, WHERE OUR CHILDREN WERE BUSED INTO AREAS THAT WERE FOREIGN TO THEM, BUSINESSES LEFT OUR NEIGHBORHOODS WITH PREDATORY BUSINESSES TAKING THEIR PLACE

SINGLE MOTHERS WERE FORCED TO WORK THROUGH THE "WELFARE TO WORK" PLAN AUTHORIZED BY PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON,   LEAVING OUR CHILDREN ALONE, AS WE SEE IT TODAY, TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES - HOME ALONE WITH WANDERING MINDS AND FRAGILE CONSCIOUSNESS AS SPONGES READY FOR THE PREDATORS TO STRIKE. ELECTRONIC DEVICES THAT STILLS THE MINDS AND CREATIVITY OF THE SOULS OF OUR CHILDREN.  MANY OF OUR BLACK CHURCHES ALSO TOOK FLIGHT TO THE SUBURBS LEAVING THE LEAST OF THOSE THAT NEEDED THE SPIRITUAL SUPPORT AND COMMUNITY THE MOST,  AGAIN ALONE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES.WE FACE TODAY, BROKEN DOWN SCHOOLS, POOR TEACHING METHODS WITH INEXPERIENCED TEACHERS WHO IN MANY INSTANCES LACK THE WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE TO KNOW HOW TO EDUCATE MANY OF OUR CHILDREN.  A TEACHING METHOD  THAT DO NOT STIMULATE THE MINDS OF OUR CHILDREN, WE LACK THE PRESENCE OF THE TEACHERS BEFORE THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT THAT SAW THE TEACHING EXPERIENCE AS A MINISTRY, NOT JUST A JOB TO GET TENURE OR AS A CAREER - TO THOSE TEACHERS OF OUR PAST WHO WAS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY WERE GETTING,  IT WAS A CALLING, A CALLING TO CHALLENGE THE YOUTH TO  GET ALL OF THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU COULD GET, A CALLING TO LET YOU KNOW WHY YOU SHOULD GET THIS KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM, THEY TAUGHT BLACK HISTORY, BECAUSE THEY LIVED IN AND  CAME THROUGH THE WORST OF THE WAR AGAINST THEIR MINDS AND THEIR DIGNITY THAT PRESENT DAY BLACK AMERICA AND AMERICA AS A WHOLE, SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN THESE SACRIFICES, WHICH ALLOWED FREEDOM TO COME FOR MANY.  FREEDOM CAME FOR WOMEN, PRIMARILY EUROPEAN WOMEN, FREEDOM IN MANY WAYS HAVE COME FOR THE BROTHER AND SISTERS THAT HAVE CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET BASED ON THEIR SEXUAL PREFERENCES, FREEDOM HAS COME FOR OTHERS WHO HAVE COME  TO AMERICA BECAUSE OF THE THE CIVIL RIGHTS LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING'S WORK IN OPENING THE DOOR OF FREEDOM TO ALL OF HUMANITY!

However, because of our rich history of a people that came in bondage, worked their way out of bondage, their story, THE BLACK AFRICAN STORY TO AMERICA, we feel must be told, as our inspiration, encouragement and motivation to rebuild our communities today in spite of the so called "WORLD ECONOMIC PLIGHT", the fractured neighborhoods, some becoming more dis-spirited, we believe through the International Mothers' Club, we not only have hope, we have faith that there will be a better tomorrow, when we choose to make that better tomorrow happen for ourselves!

Our ancestors and elders left their stories behind and many are waiting today to tell their stories, to empower and strengthen us by their stories, their songs, and their determination to rise as a people.  Today we can learn from them and be able to know that if our ancestors overcame the worst of slavery and thrived, we can today pull from within us that same spirit they left to us as our legacy as we share among ourselves and our neighbors the "GOSPEL ACCORDING TO BLACK HER-STORY!  The time for RESURRECTION IS NOW!
